The following maps illustrate potential opportunities to improve the transportation network for people who walk, bike and take transit. The maps do not necessarily show what is desired, just what could physically fit within the existing right of way.
Most people who walk will not go more then 330′ (about the length of a city block) out of there way to cross a road. Where there are long distances between crosswalks and their is demand to cross the road, mid-block crosswalks should be provided.
There is no such thing as a “typical” bicyclist. Some bicyclists prefer riding on separated pathways and local roads and others are comfortable riding on busy roads. A network of bikeways should be provided so people on bikes can choose the route of their choice based on their comfort level.
