The City of Jackson, Jackson County and Region 2 Planning Commission, developed a joint Nonmotorized Plan. The plan looked at near-term and long-term opportunities for people who walk and bike. The plan builds upon the many efforts that have taken place over the years to craft a compelling and implementable vision that reflects the community consensus.
The Region 2 Planning Commission staff is now working to get the plan approved and adopted by the JACTS/R2PC committees, the Jackson County Board of Commissioners, and the Jackson City Council. The plan is expected to be adopted in 2020 by each group.
Once the plans is adopted, the work begins to implement the plan’s recommendations. The Region 2 Planning Commission is committed to working with communities and local partners on studying and implementing the plan.
