SELECT A PROJECT AREA BELOW TO LEARN MORE ABOUT THE PLAN

Thank you to everyone who participated in the recent survey or attended a public open house! Public input is now closed, but you can view a summary of the results and explore the proposed routes by clicking on any of the three sections below.

These trail connections represent an exciting opportunity to improve regional access to parks and neighboring communities. While it will still be some time before work begins on selected routes, this input is a vital step in moving the project forward.

Next, we’ll use the community feedback to finalize the preferred route and begin developing preliminary engineering documents. This work will help position the project for future grant opportunities.

We sincerely appreciate your input and look forward to using it to guide our next steps.

WHAT WE HEARD

We received a substantial amount of input and would like to extend a big, heartfelt thank you to all those who provided feedback on our trail plan! Your thoughts and ideas are valuable in shaping the future of our non-motorized trails. Below is a summary of the results.

This project continues the effort started by the Tri-County Regional Planning Commission in 2022 to establish a regional pathway route through the region that creates connections to the rest of the state through existing regional trails such as Fred Meijer Clinton-Ionia-Shiawassee Rail Trail, Paul Henry-Thornapple Trail, and Mike Levine Lakelands Trail State Park.

This project is being led by the Tri-County Regional Planning Commission, a public planning agency and data resource supporting Mid-Michigan’s communities.  You can learn more at mitcrpc.org.
