The Plan:
The project will determine a specific pathway route connecting the Brighton State Recreation Area, Huron Meadows Metro Park, Kensington Metropark and Island Lake State Recreation Area. To accomplish the goals of this project, a feasibility study of pathway alignments and highway crossing options will be completed. After the alternatives have been evaluated and vetted with stakeholders and the public, a preliminary engineering plan of the route will be prepared. The final project products include a preliminary pathway plan and cost opinion that can be used to coordinate efforts with MDOT, determine project phasing, and implementation schedules.
This project is funded by a grant from the Ralph C. Wilson Jr. Legacy Fund through the Community Foundation for Southeast Michigan.
